CCR partners with AFIT Civil Engineering School and National Defense University to provide "Managing Control Systems Security" Course

The AFIT Civil Engineer School, National Defense University, and the Center for Cyberspace Research partnered to provide the second annual course offering on";Managing Control Systems Security" conducted from August 23-27, 2010 at Wright Patterson AFB, OH. The students represented several Major Commands and various AFSCs. The course was designed to target the Civil Engineer and Communications Specialist community (Active Duty and Civil Service) that Manage, Operate, and Configure control systems throughout the US Air Force.  The course consisted of presentations on various topics such as Control Systems/SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) Networks and Security, Control System Threats and Vulnerabilities, Control System Risk Assessments, Security Standards for Control Systems,Control Network Configuration, Perimeter and Device Firewalls, and Intrusion Detection strategies. Guest speakers from Department of Homeland Security, SANDIA National Labs, Center for Cyberspace Research, US Army Corps of Engineers, AF Civil Engineering Support Agency, NORTHCOM, and Industry partners like Tofino Security provided relevant and open discussions on Control Systems security.
