The Department of Homeland Security - Industrial Control Systems Cyber Emergency Response Team (ICS-CERT) is to support the latest advances in technology in critical infrastructure research conducted by the Center for Cyberspace Research (CCR). CCR currently has twelve graduate students’ research topics such as emulators for critical infrastructure components, firmware validation, vulnerability of CI communication protocols, and identification of devices exposed to attack.
- ICS-CERT works to reduce risks within and across all critical infrastructure sectors by partnering with law enforcement agencies and the intelligence community and coordinating efforts among Federal, state, local, and tribal governments and control systems owners, operators, and vendors. Additionally, ICS-CERT collaborates with international and private sector Computer Emergency Response Teams (CERTs) to share control systems-related security incidents and mitigation measures.CCR, as part of the Graduate School of Engineering and Management at AFIT, is tasked with graduate education and research in security, network analysis and performance. CCR has been designated as the Air Force Cyberspace Technical Center of Excellence, an NSA/DHS Research Center of Excellence, and a National Science Foundation CyberCorps center. CCR supports cutting-edge graduate research through partnerships with a myriad of agencies.
