The Air Force Nuclear College conducts Nuclear Professional Continuing Education (NPCE) Programs and Nuclear Certification Process-related courses since inception in 2004. AFMC/CC Memorandum, dated October 7, 2004, subject: AFMC Nuclear Management Training Program â€“ established AFMC Nuclear College. The 2011 â€“ NIRI/NOB endorsed AETC proposal for a 3-tier NPCE plan to help address AF Nuclear Roadmap direction to rebuild nuclear expertise through training, education, and career force development. In October 2012 - ownership of the nuclear courses transferred to AU/Spaatz Counterproliferation Center and again to AU Center for Unconventional Weapons Studies (CUWS) in April, 2014. In September 2015 â€“ AU initiated actions to transfer NPCE management to AFIT. On April 1, 2016 AFIT establishes the School of Strategic Force Studies and OL-A is established at Kirtland AFB to manage Air Force Nuclear College.
