Graduate School of Engineering and Management Demonstrates Student Success

The Higher Learning Commission requires that accredited institutions make publically available pertinent student success information for its academic programs. Since AFIT only offers graduate programs leading to the award of master's and Ph.D. degrees, the institution reports the data most relevant to graduate studies.

The following links provide evidence that:

• Over 83% of Air Force assigned service members (“quota” students) completed their PhD within 54 months of entrance
   
• 96% of Air Force assigned service members (“quota” students) completed their master's degree within 24 months of entrance
   
• Over 98% of master’s students and over 96% of PhD students who are Air Force assigned service members (“quota” students) are retained or graduated within 12 months of starting their program
   
• 97% or more of 2020-21 graduates were employed upon degree completion, with the Air Force Materiel Command (33%) and other AF Major Commands (31%) being the most common post-graduation assignments
   
• AFIT Graduate School students follow a variety of career paths after graduation (5-year history)

ABET Accreditation

ABET is a nonprofit, non-governmental organization which accredits college and university programs in the disciplines of applied and natural science, computing, engineering and engineering technology at the associate, bachelor’s and master’s degree levels. It is recognized as a worldwide leader in assuring quality in educational programs and assures that academic programs meet the quality standards of the profession for which that program prepares graduates.
