WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio – The Air Force Institute of Technology’s Department of Cyberspace Studies continues a more than decade-long tradition of excellence in joint cyberspace education with its latest three-year recertification from the Joint Staff J7 for both the United States Air Force’s Joint Intermediate Cyberspace Operations, Cyberspace 200 and Joint Advance Cyberspace Operations, Cyberspace 300 courses. These courses have continuously maintained their joint certified status since 2011 and remain AFIT’s only Joint Staff certified offerings.
Cyberspace 200 and Cyberspace 300 serve as the official U.S.
Air Force professional continuing education pathways for 17X Cyberspace Warfare
Operations officers, required for upgrading their career field badge
proficiency. Although these courses are targeted primarily towards Air Force
17X officers, their joint certification creates valuable opportunities for
cyber professionals across all military branches.
“The ongoing joint staff certification of Cyberspace 200 and 300 underscores our commitment to producing cyberspace professionals prepared to integrate with joint operations.
Doing the hard work to maintain our certifications highlights our commitment to delivering education aligned with national defense and DoD cyberspace strategies. It also affirms AFIT’s interest in interoperability and strategic thinking across all services," said Lt. Col. Jason Fields, director, AFIT Department of Cyberspace Studies.

Cyberspace 200 is designed for cyberspace Captains with
emphasis on developing operational-level planning and integration skills which
enable students to effectively incorporate warfighter communications and
cyberspace operations into broader military objectives. Cyberspace 300 is
designed for cyberspace field grade officers and further expands officers’
strategic mindset, underlining application of advanced doctrinal planning
principles across full-spectrum cyberspace operations within joint
environments.
Both courses award graduates two Joint Qualified Officer
points, enhancing their professional growth and joint career development. While
Air Force 17X officers must complete these courses to upgrade their career field
badge, the Department of Cyberspace Studies welcomes eligible personnel from
all military branches. Multi-service enrollment enhances the classroom
experience by incorporating joint cyberspace perspectives, creating a rich
learning environment for students to exchange experiences, while also aligning
curriculum and discussions closely with national and Department of Defense
strategic doctrines and priorities.
These transformative courses are delivered exclusively
in-residence at AFIT’s Wright-Patterson Air Force Base campus, fostering
valuable face-to-face interactions, networking, and collaborative learning
opportunities between cyberspace professionals from across the armed forces.

200 or Cyberspace 300 are encouraged to learn more about the courses and the
