AFIT alumnus to Receive the Excellence in the Sciences Award

AFIT alumnus Dr. Guion “Guy” Bluford Jr. (Ph.D. Aerospace Engineering, 1978, and M.S. Aerospace Engineering, 1974, with distinction), the former NASA astronaut who became the first African-American to enter outer space, will receive the Excellence in the Sciences Award on Aug. 17 2013 at the Vietnam Veterans of America’s 16th biennial National Convention.  The press release can be read here  and an article can be found here.
