SSgt Yost was selected as the Air Education and Training Command's (AETC) Force Support Airman of the Year for 2016.  This award distinguishes AETC's enlisted Airmen for their leadership, job performance, community involvement and personal achievements.
Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, SSgt Yost joined the Air Force in April 2011 and has worked as part of AFIT's Commander's Support Staff (CSS) since March 2015.  He has proven himself to be an outstanding performer ranking #1 out of 11 Airmen and receiving the AFIT and AU Airman of the Quarter Award.
In 2016 Yost managed AFIT's Duty Station Program where he performed numerous record updates and enabled a perfect on demand personal accountability in record time.  He sustained complete data integrity through all of his Military Personnel Data System inputs, taking care to fix career data for promotions, assignments, and awards.  Yost facilitated AFIT's Drug Reduction Program -  notifying and tracking personnel - with strict enforcement and no errors.
" It is an honor to receive this award and there is no way I could have done this alone. I'd like to thank my CSS team and great leadership for pushing me and being by my side every step of the way," said Yost.
A graduate of Airman Leadership School, SSgt Yost is currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources from the Community College of the Air Force.  After three semesters, he has maintained a 3.57 grade point average.
" My goals during my time in the Air Force are to become a First Sergeant and if I'm lucky to stay in long enough, I would like to make Chief. Also, I would like to pursue my education and earn at least earn my Bachelor's degree," shared Yost.
SSgt Yost is also active in his community.  He ensured safety procedures were followed for a Junior Science Symposium with more than 1,000 participants, is a key member for March of Dimes, and has dedicated several hours to Habitat for Humanity.
