LOG 399, Strategic Logistics Management, is a 3-day live course, or 3-week (meeting twice weekly) virtual course.
This course features guest speaker presentations focused on current strategic logistics concepts and capabilities within the DoD, with an emphasis on strategic sustainment and distribution processes and functions, including distribution process ownership USTRANSCOM, strategic airlift AMC, and defense commodity management DLA.
LOG 399 also covers joint and Air Force logistics doctrine, the academic perspective on strategic logistics capabilities and concepts, and can include issues specific to the student where the course is held.
Participants address logistics concepts, best practices, challenges, and strategic solutions to sustainment issues faced by Air Force logisticians.
This course is primarily for Captains with over 6 years’ time-in-service to O-6 officers, government service employees (GS-12s to GS-15s and equivalent), and MSgts to Chiefs in logistics career fields.
