Overview of Contracting Education courses offered at AFIT/LS.
Video Transcript
Hi – my name is Paul Joyce and I’m the Lead for the Team that provides the Contracting education and training at The Air Force Institute of Technology.
The corner stone of our curriculum is the Mission Ready Contracting Officers Course – MRC-102. This Initial Skills Training course is approximately four weeks long and provides the majority of the Contracting DIAWA Level I certification requirements.
We also instruct shorter and more focused classes:
SYS-120 is a two day Teaming class that provides an overview of the roles and responsibilities of DCMA, DCAA, DFAS and HQ AFMC.
SYS-166 is our Interest Based Negotiations course. It’s two days long and provides instruction on Data Rights, Individual Negotiation patterns and Interest based negotiation skills.
LOG-132 is a two week course that provides a summary of what the Contracting functional does and how Logistics Professionals can effectively and efficiently interact with their Contracting counterparts. This class is offered annually at Hill, WR and Tinker Air Force bases – but can be taken to other Air Force installations upon request.
WKSP-603 is a week-long class that provides a top level overview of the roles and responsibilities of the Contracting discipline. It is currently tailored for the AF OSI, but can be re-designed for other non-contracting work units.
Thank you for taking the time to listen to this message. If Contracting education or training are in your future – I look forward to crossing paths with you.
