Financial stewardship describes the care, conservancy, planning, attention, upkeep, and management of the financial resources provided to the government by the taxpayer, and the choices we as government employees make about managing those resources.
These courses explore topics such as realistic cost estimating, finding and achieving cost savings, and understanding how and why our commercial business partners make financial decisions.
This curriculum is designed for civilian and military acquisition members across a wide range of ranks and grades, but primarily in the financial, cost, and program management career fields.
Through a combination of instructor led and distance learning, you will gain useful information that you can apply to your job. We’ll use a variety of delivery modes - lectures, self-paced study, exercises, and realistic case studies - to aid your learning.
The course content builds on the DAU courses you’ve already taken, giving you the Air Force perspective on the subject along with Air Force standard processes, guidelines, best practices, and yes, even specific pitfalls to watch out for.
