Cyberspace 200: Joint Intermediate Cyberspace Operations
Cyberspace 200 Course Purpose Statement: To develop warfighter communications and cyberspace effects officers by enhancing their operational mindset to plan, operate, and execute capabilities across full spectrum operations and joint multi-domain environments securing the competitive advantage over our nation's adversaries.

Cyberspace 200 Course Objectives
- Organizational Understanding: Understand the full spectrum of communications and cyberspace organizations, operations, and core competencies.
- Planning and Integration: Apply military planning processes and critical thinking skills to integrate communications and cyberspace capabilities to achieve mission objectives.
- Conceptual Knowledge: Understand key concepts regarding communications and cyberspace, doctrine, strategy, policy, and professional development opportunities.
Cyberspace 200 Course Focus Areas:
- Capabilities: Explain communications and cyberspace capabilities, including their functionalities, applications, and implications for joint multi-domain operations.
- OT&E: Differentiate roles and responsibilities of DoD organizations and how they related to communications and cyberspace operations.
- Operations Environment: Explain the evolving nature of cyberspace, information warfare, and the digital and operational environment.
- Planning: Develop an operational design and plan that incorporates communications and cyberspace capabilities and resilience within a joint multi-domain environment.
- Enrichment: Demonstrate an understanding of relevant communications and cyberspace topics that extend beyond individual areas of expertise.
Cyberspace 200 Cyberspace 200 Eligibility Criteria
(Guard and Reserve may have additional requirements)
Officer • U.S. citizen • Captains with 6-8 years commissioned TIS | Enlisted • U.S. citizen • TSgt/TSgt selects; SSgts with 9-11 TIS • Minimum 24 months of cyberspace experience | Civilian • U.S. citizen • In a cyberspace operations or acquisition position • Minimum 24 months cyberspace experience | Sister Services • U.S. citizen • Equivalent rank • In a cyberspace related position • Minimum 24 months cyberspace experience |
Per the 10 May 2024 FY25-28 Program Requirements Document (PRD), targeted USAF personnel for Cyberspace 200 are:
- 17X Active Duty
- 17X ANG
- 17X AFRC
- Cyber Civ (Per SAF CFM)
- 14N (Assigned to support cyber ops)
- 1DX (Nominated by unit commander)
- 1NX (Assigned to support cyber ops)
- 6X (Assigned to development of cyber capes)
The student enrollment process will prioritize attendance in this order.
- Tier 1: RegAF, AFRC and ANG 17X Officers/Warrant Officers, Cyber Civilians
- Tier 2: RegAF 14N Officers and 1DX/1NX Airmen
- Tier 3: 6X Personnel and Joint Service
Cyberspace 200 Notes
- Cyberspace 200 may not be taken after Cyberspace 300.
- Per the March 2023 17X Cybersapce Warfare operations Talent Mangement Framework document, 17X officers will wear the Senior Cyber Badge after graduation of Cyberspace 200 and completion of 7 years of cyberspace operations duty.
- Students are eligible for two Joint Qualified Officer (JQO) points after graduation of Cyberspace 200.
