CYBERCORP
AFIT provides scholarship opportunities targeted to U.S. citizens who are seeking a master’s degree in cyber operations. This scholarship is made possible through a grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) Scholarship for Service program (CyberCorp). The program allows students to obtain advanced graduate education in return for federal or local government service upon degree completion. Government service time is equal to the amount of time the scholarship supports. A typical academic program length is 24 months. Fellowship benefits include full tuition, $25,000 stipend, computer and book allowance, and conference travel opportunities.
OHIO SPACE GRANT CONSORTIUM
The Ohio Space Grant Consortium (OSGC) is part of the National Space Grant College and Fellowship Program funded through Congress and administered by NASA Headquarters. There are 52 consortia, one in each state plus the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.
This program offers financial support through competitively awarded fellowships to master’s and doctoral students pursuing aerospace-related science and engineering degrees at the Graduate School of Engineering and Management. Awards to master's students are for $16,000 plus tuition for a calendar year; these may be extended for an additional six-month period. Awards to doctoral students are for $20,000 plus tuition for a calendar year; these may be extended for an additional two years. Applications are due by February 28 of each year. DEFENSE ASSOCIATED GRADUATE STUDENT INNOVATORS (DAGSI)
DAGSI’s mission is to develop and support world-class graduate engineering education and research programs, thereby contributing to Ohio’s economic growth and development.
Top candidates for full-time doctoral study are eligible for assistantships in addition to tuition. At the Graduate School Deans' discretion, the highest ranked applicants may be offered additional funding through faculty research grants. The maximum assistantship award will be $25,000. U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY (DHS)
The DHS Scholarship and Fellowship Program is intended for students interested in pursuing the basic science and technology innovations that can be applied to the DHS mission. This education program is intended to ensure a diverse and highly talented science and technology community to achieve the DHS mission and objectives. Areas of study that are eligible include: physical sciences, mathematical sciences, computer and information sciences, life sciences, social sciences, psychology, and engineering. SMART (SCIENCE, MATHEMATICS AND RESEARCH FOR TRANSFORMATION) SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
This program provides selected students with stipend allowances, full tuition, book allowance, room and board and other normal educational expenses. The purpose is to promote the education, recruitment and retention of undergraduate and graduate students in science, mathematics and engineering studies. The SMART Scholarship Program is open only to citizens of the United States and students must be at least 18 years of age to be eligible. DOD INFORMATION ASSURANCE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM (IASP)
The Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Networks and Information Integration (ASD (NII)) annually announces a Department of Defense Information Assurance Scholarship Program (IASP) grant and scholarship competition. The program is designed to increase the number of new entrants to the DoD who possess key information assurance (IA) and IT skill sets. It serves as a mechanism to build the nation’s IA infrastructure through grants to colleges and universities jointly designated by the National Security Agency (NSA) and Department of Homeland Defense as Centers of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education. In addition, the scholarship serves as a tool to develop and retain well-educated military and DoD civilian personnel who support the Department’s critical IT management and infrastructure protection functions.
