The Air Force offers educational opportunities to selected career employees on a competitive basis, managed by Headquarters, Air Force Personnel Center (HQ AFPC). Civilian Developmental Education (CDE), which was previously known as Civilian Competitive Development Program, is moving toward Total Force Development which is dedicated to developing professionals who will collectively leverage their respective strengths to accomplish the Air Force Mission. As with their military counterparts, the Air Force is aligning the development of our civilians by providing the same opportunities. AFIT is one of the institutions to which civilian Air Force employees selected by the Air Force Personnel Center may be sent.
