AFIT is in the process of erecting an outdoor flying enclosure for multirotors. The size of this will be about 40 by 60 feet by about 40 feet tall, which is big enough to fly any of the multirotors that we’re currently flying here. The reason it’s important to have it here is all of our students are on a time constrained program. While some of the equipment can seem expensive, the single most valuable resource our students have is their time. This will allow them to…within a week they could accomplish two-to-three build and check-out cycles by having this directly out back adjacent to the range. That’s a huge asset for these students in their research program.
