The AFIT Foundation, Inc. (“Foundation”) is a non-federal entity, separate and distinct from AFIT, within the context of the DoD Joint Ethics Regulation (JER), section 1-224. Founded in 1986, it is a tax-exempt, not-for-profit 501 (c) (3) corporation, incorporated in the State of Ohio for the purpose of furthering the goals of AFIT above the level of appropriated funds.
AFIT recognizes the importance and benefits of the Foundation’s support for AFIT and its programs. AFIT and the Foundation intend that the interaction between the two organizations will be based on the principles of mutual support, cooperation, and dedication to further enhance AFIT and academic professionalism within the United States Air Force.
