Air Commodore Naser A Hamadani, Pakistani Air Force, Retired

Naser Hamadani was born in the city of Jhang in province of Punjab, Pakistan, the fifth of seven children. His father was a lawyer and his mother was a housewife.

After finishing high school, Hamadani joined the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) as an engineering cadet in 1973.  He attained the degree of Bachelor of Science in Avionics from the PAF College of Aeronautical Engineering (CAE) Karachi and was commissioned in the PAF in 1977 as a Flying Officer (Lieutenant rank equivalent in the USAF) in Electronics Specialty of Engineering Branch.  In 1980, Hamadani was selected for the master’s degree program at AFIT.

During his career, Hamadani taught at his alma mater CAE, served as the Officer Commanding No. 107 Air Engineering Depot, Officer Commanding No. 118 Software Engineering Depot, Managing Director Kamra Avionics and Radar Factory, and Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Electronics).  Hamadani was awarded Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military) by Government of Pakistan and a Commendation Certificate by Chief of Air Staff. Serving in different operational, maintenance and training units of the PAF, Hamadani retired in July 2006 as Air Commodore (Brigadier General equivalent in the USAF). 

After retiring from PAF, Hamadani joined Paktel, the first cellular communications operator of Pakistan as Regional Chief Technical Officer for the North region.  Paktel was bought by China Mobile Communications Corporation and was renamed as CMPak Ltd with the brand name of ZonG.  Later, Hamadani became the Director, Corporate and Regulatory Affairs.  In June 2013, he finally said good bye to a formal job and started his own business venture.

Hamadani has been happily married since 1980 to Zainab Hamadani. They have two daughters, one son, and one granddaughter.
