Nuclear 200: Nuclear Fundamentals Course
Nuclear 200 course introduces Airmen with less than 8 years of service supporting the AF’s nuclear enterprise and mission or in support roles/non-core nuclear billets. Through facilitated discussion and lectures supported by video presentations partnered with a classified tour of the DTRA Nuclear Weapons Informational Museum and AF Senior Mentors, students are provided a frame of reference with which to explore US nuclear mission, capabilities, and issues. Major topic areas include: nuclear weapon fundamentals; nuclear community; nuclear force structure; stockpile guidance, planning, and assessment; and nuclear surety.

Upon completion of the course, students will be able to:
- Describe the Air Force Nuclear Enterprise governance body of practice.
- Describe the most recent state of the Air Force Nuclear Enterprise.
- Explain how the Air Force Nuclear Enterprise is assessed.
- Recognize current and future USAF nuclear weapons and weapon systems.
- Outline/summarize the basics of nuclear weapons, physics, design, and effects.
- Discuss the current US deterrence and nuclear policy strategy concepts and operations.
- Recall the roles the USAF plays in assurance and extended deterrence.
