Course Description

COURSE:  WMGT 437 Troop Construction Project Management Course

OBJECTIVE:  For each student to comprehend the principles that will lead to a successful construction project.

DESCRIPTION:  This course applies the principles of Project Management to Civil Engineering troop construction projects. Concepts taught will augment students’ abilities to ensure that quality construction projects are delivered on time and on budget. Specific topics include project planning, budgeting, material acquisition, scheduling, risk management, safety and quality management, change management, and construction close-out.

PRIMARY AUDIENCE:  Base level personnel responsible for managing troop construction projects.

SECONDARY AUDIENCE:  Staff-level Civil Engineer Officers; CE flight chiefs; any Civil Engineer involved in project execution.

GRADE:   Officers: O1-O4; Enlisted: E5-E9

PREREQUISITES:  Students must be able to complete college level coursework.
A year or more of project management experience or the completion of WMGT 322 is required for application to this course. For questions about eligibility, please contact the course director.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:  Stable internet connection along with a computer with camera and microphone capability for participating in class discussions.

DELIVERY METHOD:  This course utilizes a blended learning approach where students will be provided LIVE online broadcasts in addition to watching pre-recorded course content over the period of two weeks (half days, 1200 - 1700 Eastern Time or as posted below).
