Course Description

COURSE:  WMGT 301 Introduction to Asset Management

OBJECTIVE:  The objective of this course is to introduce students to the fundamental concepts of asset management in the Air Force Civil Engineer Structure. Through the introduction of the basic concepts that support asset management, students will be better versed in the business practice, nomenclature and mindset to be an effective member of the CE organization.

DESCRIPTION:  This 10 hour course introduces the fundamental concepts and principles of asset management in the Air Force Civil Engineer Enterprise. Topics include basic asset management principles, decision making, and Air Force asset management-related policies.

PRIMARY AUDIENCE:  Any new Air Force Civil Engineer with under 2 years of experience

SECONDARY AUDIENCE:  Any Air Force Civil Engineer with greater than 2 years of experience

GRADE:  
  • CE Company Grade Officers
  • 5-level and above Enlisted CE military personnel and civilian equivalents

DELIVERY METHOD:  Asynchronous web course. This course is offered as a self-paced on-demand web course. Students will view all lessons, complete homework assignments, take quizzes, and take the final exam through an online learning management system (AU Canvas) at a time and place of their choosing. Successfully completing this course is a prerequisite for WMGT 417 and WMGT 436.

Course Enrollment: Registration is open year-round! Class will begin as soon as your application is processed and AU Canvas account is verified (new student access can take up to 2 weeks). Students may begin taking course regardless of the posted start date.

COURSE CREDIT:  1.0 CEU in compliance with IACET standards

COURSE LENGTH:  Self-paced (approximately 10 hours of course content)
