Course Description

COURSE:  WMGT 322 Introduction to Project Management Course

OBJECTIVE:  For each student to be introduced to the principles and terminology of Air Force construction project management.

DESCRIPTION:  This course introduces the principles and terminology of Air Force Project Management. Students will be introduced to the phases of Air Force project management: planning & programming, design & contracting, construction, and closeout. Concepts introduced throughout this course include time management, cost management, and quality management of Air Force construction projects.

PRIMARY AUDIENCE:  Base-level personnel responsible for managing Air Force construction projects.

SECONDARY AUDIENCE:  Other Engineering flight personnel, Civil Engineer flight chiefs, Contracting personnel, and Civil Engineer Operations flight personnel responsible for managing Facility Projects.

GRADE:   Company Grade Officers and civilian equivalents; 5-level and above Enlisted military personnel and civilian equivalents.


DELIVERY METHOD:  Asynchronous web course. This course is offered as a self-paced ON-DEMAND web course. Students will view all lessons, complete homework assignments, take quizzes, and take the final exam through an online learning management system (AU Canvas) at a time and place of their choosing.

Course Enrollment: Registration is open year-round!
Students may begin immediately regardless of the posted start date once supervisor's approval is acknowledged by registrar.

Students can begin the course as soon as applications are approved by supervisors and have AU Canvas access (new student access can take up to 2 weeks).

COURSE CREDIT:  0.5 CEU in compliance with IACET standards

COURSE LENGTH:  Self-paced (approximately 8 hours of course content)
