COURSE: WENG 285 Engineering for a Contested Environment

OBJECTIVE:  For each student to apply engineering theory, principles, and techniques to make informed and risk-based decisions while operating in contested environments.
DESCRIPTION:  This course provides Civil Engineer officers with technical knowledge and decision-making skills required to support operations in contested and austere environments. The course emphasizes a risk-based approach to problem-solving and integrates practical application of engineering principles with current research and best practices. Students will analyze real-world scenarios, conduct technical assessments, and develop solutions for a range of engineering challenges encountered during deployed operations. This course is technically challenging, and students will be expected to complete a series of evaluations in and out of the classroom.
