COURSE:  WMGT 513 Advanced CE Financial Management

OBJECTIVE:  For each student to comprehend complexities and implication of planning and building the POM, to include base level inputs and impacts. For each student to be able apply risk mitigation in financial management decision making.

DESCRIPTION:  This course focuses on advanced concepts needed to effectively and efficiently manage base civil engineer financial management efforts in the areas of: 1) Advanced concepts in budget creation to include advanced concepts in building the Program Operations Memorandum, or POM. 2) Advanced concepts in risk mitigation. 3) Advanced concepts in strategic thinking and effective communication of financial management problems and products

PRIMARY AUDIENCE:  CE Financial Managers with minimum of 3 years experience in CE financial management

SECONDARY AUDIENCE:  MAJCOM A7R Budget Analyst or Comptroller Budget Analysts for CE with the recommendation of their A7R or Base Financial Management Analysis Chief (as appropriate).

GRADE:   Civilian grades GS-09 and above, CE or Comptroller Officers O-1 through O-4

PREREQUISITES:  Minimum of 3 years as a CE budget analyst and have completed WMGT 412 required. Bachelor degree in accounting or business management preferred.


COURSE CREDIT:  2.5 CEUs in compliance with IACET standards
