OBJECTIVE:  Students will comprehend the technical and regulatory requirements of the installation water quality (wastewater and stormwater) management program, and understand methods to plan and manage a successful program.

DESCRIPTION:  The course provides instruction on technical, regulatory, and management topics concerning water quality (wastewater and stormwater) compliance. Major subject areas are program management, National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permits and plans, Total Maximum Daily Loads (TMDL), Low Impact Development (LID), emerging issues, and Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures (SPCC). Problem solving and group exercises are included in the course. In person offerings typically include relevant field trips. Students and instructors are from all services.

PRIMARY AUDIENCE:  Wastewater Program Manager, Stormwater Program Manager.

SECONDARY AUDIENCE:  Installation environmental department directors, drinking water program manager, and water utility manager, base planners, utilities asset managers, and real property professionals.
