DID YOU KNOW?
The Civil Engineer School at the Air Force Institute of
Technology (AFIT) strengthens the Air Force’s mission readiness by offering a
suite of Sustainment Management System (SMS) courses—specifically BUILDER and PAVER—to
transition our enterprise from reactive repairs to strategic, predictive
infrastructure lifecycle management.
The BUILDER and PAVER SMS are web-based software applications created to assist AF civil engineers with deciding the best place to invest limited time and money to strengthen and maintain current AF infrastructure. We must build a data-driven
infrastructure and as AF civil engineers, our ability to fight from our
bases starts with accurate asset visibility.
These educational opportunities are open to all Air Force
miliary, civilian and contract personnel.
WMGT 131, BUILDER 1 will allow you read-only access
to the BUILDER program.
WMGT 231, BUILDER 2 will provide training to do
assessments on components within a facilities infrastructure.
WMGT 331, BUILDER 3 prepares you to become a Data
Manager at your installation.
These user-friendly classes are self-paced and web
based. Once registered through CE’s student information system, students will
gain access to the course(s).
In addition to the BUILDER courses, the PAVER courses provide education on the
PAVER program and are also self-paced and web based. All six courses take an estimated 6-10 hours
to complete depending on your learning style:
The Civil Engineer School develops agile, innovative, and
