Welcome to the 2nd Annual Digital Materiel Management (DMM) Symposium

Hosted by the Air Force Institute of Technology's (AFIT) Digital Innovation and Integration Center of Excellence (DIICE). 

Join us on January 21-22, 2026, for this premier two-day event dedicated to advancing the principles and practices of Digital Materiel Management. The symposium will feature a diverse program of presentations, panels, and workshops spread across two dynamic tracks. 

Day 1 will kick off with welcome remarks from DIICE Director, Col Ian Slazinik. 

• Track A will feature a Digital Materiel Management Workshop with presentations from various Program Offices, followed by an afternoon session providing a comprehensive overview of SySML V2 for leaders and practitioners. 
•  Track B will focus on solution provider case studies, exploring topics such as Composable Systems, Product Support, and Unified Certification Strategy.

Day 2 begins with a keynote address from Dr. Walter Jones, Chancellor of AFIT. 

• Track A will host engaging panel discussions on critical topics including "Functional Integration in DMM," "Best Practices / Lessons Learned in DMM," and "Driving Culture Change and Adoption in DMM." 
• Track B will feature a panel on "Accelerating Test" and another on the "Future of Open Architectures." 

Throughout the symposium, attendees will have the opportunity to learn from student research presentations on innovative topics such as AI-driven systems engineering, leveraging digital twins in space manufacturing, and model-based safety reviews. 

The 2nd Annual DMM Symposium offers a unique opportunity to connect with leaders, practitioners, and researchers from across the Department of the Air Force and industry.
