Nuclear Certification Process Course

Air Force Nuclear Certification Process Course (In-Residence and Mobile Education Teams (MET))

Purpose/Objective:  This course provides attendees with an understanding of the Air Force Nuclear Certification Process as prescribed by AFI 63-125, Nuclear Certification Program, by defining what nuclear certification is, discussing why nuclear certification is important, and describing how the nuclear certification process works.

  • Master Nuclear Certification List—purpose and use

Target Audience: Government personnel who are program managers, system product managers, equipment specialists, item managers at product and logistics centers, plans, requirements, and logisticians personnel, operations and maintenance personnel at field , NAF, MAJCOM and HQs AF levels engaged in developing, maintaining, sustaining or operating nuclear certified systems and equipment

2-day In-resident-4 times/year; MTT- ½ to 1 day courses

Air Force Nuclear Certification Process Web-based Training (WBT) Course

Purpose/Objective:  This course is designed to familiarize students with the Nuclear Certification Process, help them understand some basics of the process, its importance, what items and systems are required to be certified, and how to verify the certification status of an equipment item or system.

  • Phases of the Nuclear Certification Process
  • Using the MNCL
  • AFNWC’s Engineering Liaison Office

Target Audience:  Airmen assigned to a position involving weapon systems, support equipment, test equipment, or software that requires Air Force nuclear certification for use in support of nuclear taskings.

Course Length:  4 hours
