WKSP 0695 - Applied Reliability Analysis and Design

Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability RAM play important roles in the design, development, test, use, and maintenance of modern weapon systems and thus their total ownership costs. This workshop builds on conceptual foundations introduced in REL 210 but concentrates more on the application of statistical and other quantitative methods and tools. Instructor led lectures will be followed by participates solving a number of representative real-world problems using provided software. Graduates will gain critical understanding, experience, and skills needed to effectively manage RAM in their respective acquisition processes. This workshop is open to all acquisition professionals meeting the prerequisites.

Grade Restrictions: None, however, participants should have some experience in their respective fields. This course is open to participants that meet the course prerequisites and work in acquisition careers that require advanced training in reliability and how it affects availability, and maintainability.

Special Requirements: This course is open to participants that meet the course prerequisites and work in acquisition careers that require advanced training in reliability and how it affects availability, and maintainability. This course is only offered online. Participants will be required to download free 30 day trial versions of the software. If you are unable to download the software on your government equipment, then you must be willing to download the software on your personal computer. This software is necessary to participate in the workshop and complete assignments. You may need to contact your IT support to see if you are permitted to download the software on your government computer. This workshop is not intended for those that completed REL 310.

Other technical fields that also meet the course requirements are encouraged to enroll.

Prerequisites: Mandatory: REL 210 and a strong mathematics background through calculus. Desirable: Knowledge of, or some exposure to probability and statistics. See also information under Special Requirements.
