Education Integration Cell (EIC)

EIC Mission Statement: The AFIT/LS Education Integration Cell (EIC) Team performs cutting edge consulting and research services to the Information Warfare, Combat Support and Force Modernization communities for the analysis of educational / training gaps; vulnerabilities; and areas for improvement to Cybersecurity, Program Management, Contracting, Financial Management, System Engineering, Data Analytics, and Maintenance and Logistics arenas.

What We Do

EIC research is documented in Educational Needs Statements (ENSs) and culminates in the establishment of new courses, workshops and/or focused learning efforts.

EIC Areas of Expertise

The AFIT/LS Education Integration Cell provides expertise in technical research and analysis used by DAF organizations in preparing Educational Needs Assessments that define educational gaps, vulnerabilities, and areas for improvement within the Acquisition and Logistics arenas:

EIC Key Duties and Responsibilities

Conducting Research: Investigating educational topics of interest

Web-based research • Interfacing with SMEs, faculty, functional managers, and other external parties • Supporting briefings, symposia, conferences (live or virtual) • Writing analyses and summaries

Collaboration: Connecting AFIT/LS with sponsors or other external parties

Efficient and timely resolutions of educational needs • Creating agendas and facilitating discussions • Conducting prep sessions

Creating Education Analysis Products: Educational Needs Statements (ENSs) • Talking Papers • Bullet Background Papers • Proposals • Briefings • Visual Aids • Comment Matrices

EIC and the DAF

The EIC serves as the interface between potential course sponsors/Department of the Air Force stakeholders, and the Academic Departments of the School of Systems and Logistics. The EIC:

  • Provides Cybersecurity, Program Management, Contracting, Financial Management, System Engineering, Data Analytics, and Maintenance and Logistics technical research and analysis.
  • Works with weapons systems platform developers, PEOs, and program managers to meet DAF training demands.
  • Assists Air and Space Force organizations in preparing Educational Need Statements (ENSs) to assess and define educational gaps, vulnerabilities, and areas for improvement within the Acquisition and Logistics arenas.
  • Assists DAF organizations in developing educational offerings in collaboration with the school’s faculty and the Acquisition sponsors.

Education Built for You

On-Site Course Offerings (your base) - Requester generally provides travel and per diem funds for mobile faculty teams to conduct scheduled on-site Professional Continuing Education (PCE) courses. Offerings may be requested and arranged with the School.

Web-Based Course Offerings - LS pays all tuition costs associated with AFIT Online Distance Learning internet courses for DoD students only.

Tailored Courses, Seminars, and Workshops - To meet your needs, LS will tailor resident and on-site live offerings of our PCE products. We specialize in individualized courses, seminars and workshops that are designed to meet your unique or recurring requirements.
