Welcome to the LOG zero five x series of courses designed to expose students to the concepts, background, terminology, practices, and resources associated with supply management. Each of the five courses offered in this series are designed to introduce you to the supply basics in a short online format. Topics include introducing you to terms like supply chain management, sourcing, forecasting, inventory management and automated identification technology. Though taking the short courses won’t make you an expert in supply, they should provide you some basic tools to help you out. If you are like me and you own a house, you need a few necessary tools in your kit so you can tackle most home improvement projects. Personally, I think that if you can cut wood, drill holes, drive screws and measure things, you have a good start for your toolkit. Now there are many different tools that can accomplish each of those tasks, but you don’t need them all at first, so you pick out the ones that get you started in the right direction. For me it was a miter saw, a power drill, a set of screw drivers and a tape measure. That was the start of my first toolkit. Similar to this example, the LOG zero five x series of courses provides you with supply tool knowledge to place in your supply toolkit. Whether you are a new logistician or a seasoned one, having multiple tools provides you options for how you tackle supply related problems. I hope you select these tools to be placed in your kit so you are ready for the next home improvement project that comes across your desk. Enjoy the series.
