Hi I’m Tony Jones here at the Air Force Institute of Technology, School of Systems and Logistics. I want to tell you about a few courses we offer. The first (and my personal favorite because I teach it) is the Fundamentals of Acquisition Management course (or FAM). This 3 week live course provides a great foundation for anyone starting their acquisition career in the Air Force. Now if you have already been in for a couple of years, we also offer an intermediate project management course IPM 301. This 9 day live course expands upon FAM teaching more advanced project management techniques.. and best of all you get to build an actual system while applying these techniques. Interested in learning about industry standard Project Management? AFIT offers both an online course and a four day traveling workshop IPM 350 geared towards teaching PMI’s Project Management Body of Knowledge (or PMBoK). If you are planning on getting your project management professional certification… this may be the course for you. Last but not least, AFIT also offers a workshop on Professional Services. This 2 day workshop provides a great education on how to develop and manage professional services contracts.
