IPM 301 teaches both the people skills and the technical skills that project managers need to manage projects successfully.
IPM 301 is the Air Force-preferred way to fulfill three APDP required courses for PM certification.
And with it being online, you can take IPM 301 wherever you have an internet connection.
IPM 301 takes three weeks to complete and requires about 20 hours each week. How is that time spent?
You’ll spend weeks one and two on individual learning, completing the required lessons in Canvas, AFIT’s learning management system. You might watch videos, read lesson materials, complete practice activities, and take quizzes. You can complete your daily lessons based on your schedule.
Narrator: You’ll spend week 3 in half-day sessions, working on a team simulation using MS Teams.
The simulation really sets IPM 301 apart. It gives you the opportunity to apply and practice what you’ve learned, unfolding over the week, stage by stage. As a team progresses to a new simulation stage, they receive and analyze an input from the instructor, and then create an output, like a Work Breakdown Structure, a Network Diagram, or a Cost Estimate. In a virtual coaching session with the instructor, each team receives individualized feedback on what they’ve created, and then progresses on to the next stage. The IPM 301 simulation is a great way to experience planning a project from the start.
To take IPM 301 online, you’ll need a computer, an internet connection, a microphone, ability to use technology in a learning environment, and ideally a webcam.
