COURSE: WENV 175 Environmental Management in Deployed Locations Course

OBJECTIVE:  This course seeks to increase general environmental awareness for civil engineer personnel performing environmental duties at deployed locations. Each student should comprehend U.S. policies and guidance on environmental management practices as they apply to deployed operations.
DESCRIPTION:  This course equips personnel to manage environmental programs at a deployed location and address problems when they occur. Functional responsibilities discussed include an overview of pertinent overseas environmental guidance, baseline surveys/closure reports, plans, hazardous materials, hazardous waste, water/wastewater, spill management, Petroleum Oil and Lubricants (POL) management, cultural/natural resources management, base closure procedures, and resources available for deployed environmental managers.
PRIMARY AUDIENCE:  Civil Engineer officers and NCOs, deploying Unit Environmental Coordinators, and civilians and contractors with environmental duties at deployed locations.
SECONDARY AUDIENCE:  Sister Service Officer/Enlisted or DoD Civilain performing environmental management duties at a deployed location.
