In 2019, AFIT will celebrate its 100th Anniversary with the theme “A Century of Education Excellence: Inspiration to Innovation.”
In honor of that milestone, we are planning several events to highlight the impact our faculty, staff, students and alumni made over the last century and explore their current efforts to build and sustain the Joint Force’s unmatched twenty-first century military advantages across the globe.
We hope you will consider joining us at the centennial events as we celebrate AFIT and the impact it has had on aerospace and airpower education over the last one hundred years!

5 March 2019: Academic Symposium
We are kicking-off the anniversary year with an academic symposium on 5 March 2019 held in conjunction with the Dayton-Cincinnati Section of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics at Sinclair Community College in Dayton, Ohio.
The symposium will be dual-themed, celebrating both 100 years of AFIT and the 50th anniversary of the moon landing. It will showcase cutting-edge research within a one-day program that includes technical presentations across multiple areas of science and technology. Presenters and attendees at this event span academic, government and industry partners.
A call for papers and information on attendance is forthcoming.
