Accreditation

Institute Accreditation
The Air Force Institute of Technology has been continuously accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) since 1960.  AFIT participates through the Open Pathway reaffirmation of accreditation process, and last underwent a comprehensive self-study and site visit during the 2020-2021 academic year in which its regional accreditation was reaffirmed.  AFIT's next comprehensive evaluation is scheduled for the 2030-2031 academic year. Program Accreditation:  ABET
The Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, Inc. (ABET) is a nonprofit, non-governmental organization which accredits college and university programs in the disciplines of applied and natural science, computing, engineering, and engineering technology at the associate, bachelor’s and master’s degree levels.  It is recognized as a worldwide leader in assuring quality in educational programs and assures that academic programs meet the quality standards of the profession for which that program prepares graduates.

The academic programs accredited by ABET in the Graduate School of Engineering and Management are listed below.  The abbreviation “EAC” means the Engineering Accreditation Commission and “ANSAC” means the Applied and Natural Science Accreditation Commission.
