Presenter: AFCEC/CZTQ – Kevin G. Gabos, CIH., Hazardous Materials SME
Title: Move Over OSHA – Let TSCA Take Over
Target Audience: Installation Hazardous Material Managers and Hazardous Material Management Process (HMMP) Team Members
Description: The presentation will provide an overview of Toxic Substance Control Act (TSCA) changes and Environmental Protection Agency implementing regulations. It provides more specific information on Methylene Chloride regulations under 40 CFR 751 and time-critical actions for installation personnel. These regulations are more stringent than those under the Occupational Safety and Health Administration in that they prohibit manufacturing, processing, distribution in commerce, and use in many applications and will require a Workplace Chemical Protection Program for select conditions of use that will continue across the Department of the Air Force.
