REL 210 - Reliability Basics for Acquisition Professionals

Video placeholder

A broad two-day survey of basic reliability principles with emphasis on the acquisition life cycle, including how reliability affects cost, schedule, and performance. Focus is on using a proactive system reliability design approach and how to monitor improvements through management-led reliability growth programs. Mathematical topics are limited to basic concepts necessary to understand how reliability affects acquisition decisions. The course includes instructor led demonstrations and some in-class student assignments. Note: this course is aimed at the general acquisition workforce and is not a prerequisite to or a substitute for REL310. Students wanting a more in- depth technical discussion of reliability should consider REL310 or WKSP 0695 where applicable.

To Apply

Grade Restrictions: None

Special Requirements: For virtual offerings, attendees must have access to Microsoft Teams with computers that have audio and microphone capabilities. If your work environment prohibits or restricts audio and/or microphone usage, contact the instructor for other possible options. Attendance and satisfactory completion of all assignments is required to receive course credit. Details will be given by the instructor prior to class start or on the first day. Note: this course is not a prerequisite to or a substitute for REL310, which covers reliability at an in-depth technical level and designed for reliability practitioners. REL310 is only offered on-site or in-residence. However, after completing REL210, if you wish to follow up with a more technical coverage of reliability you may elect to enroll in workshop WKSP0695, which is only offered virtually and designed for those that have successfully completed REL210. After completing REL210 and WKSP0695, you would have covered essentially the same material as REL310. See REL310 and WKSP0695 for further details.
