REL 310 - Applied Reliability for Acquisition Practitioners

Video placeholder

This four day course is designed for reliability practitioners. Students will be introduced to a wide range of reliability engineering concepts based on mathematical and statistical principles discussed in class. Students will use these technical concepts and statistical principles to analyze reliability data, draw conclusions from the data, and then to construct graphs and reports required in the acquisition process, for example, Test and Evaluation Master Plans. This course emphasizes a hands- on approach where students complete in -class exercises using AFIT provided software tools currently used in the industry. Note: Individuals wishing to take a less technical course on reliability should consider REL 210, Reliability Basics for Acquisition Professionals.

To Apply

Grade Restrictions: O-1 and above E-5 and above GS-07 and above

Special Requirements: Students will be provided AFIT furnished tablets to complete some in- class assignments requiring commercial software. Students will mostly work in teams. Completed assignments must be submitted on the last day of class and will be graded. Attendance and satisfactory completion of all assignments is required to receive course credit. Details will be given by the instructor prior to class start or on the first day. Note: Students interested in the advanced technical material covered in REL 310 but are assigned to a facility or installation where REL 310 is not scheduled to be offered, should consider enrolling in REL 210 and then workshop WKSP 0695. REL 210 and WKSP 0695 are offered virtually and when combined they cover the same material in REL 310. See REL 210 and WKSP 0695 for further details.
