AFIT Research Highlighted at E-Gov Knowledge Management Conference

Posted Tuesday, April 10, 2007

Lt. Col. Danny Holt and Lt. Col. Summer Bartczak, faculty in the Air Force Institute of Technology's Department of Systems and Engineering Management, were featured as speakers at the E-Gov Knowledge Management conference held 3-5 April in Washington, D.C. In it’s eighth year, the purpose of the E-Gov KM conference—the largest KM event serving the government—is to provide a robust venue for senior KM professionals to network with their peers who are actively exploring, planning, and implementing Knowledge Management initiatives across government. Lt. Cols. Holt and Bartczak were featured as panelists for a session titled “Does Your Environment Enable KM?” where they presented their continuing work on readiness for knowledge management, which blends Lt. Col. Holt’s work in organizational change and Lt. Col. Bartczak’s work in knowledge management. The event provided a forum for bringing current AFIT research to a wider federal audience and provided opportunities for further collaboration with organizations such as the U.S. Marine Corps, Joint Special Operations Command, and Joint Science and Technology Office. When asked about his favorite aspect of the conference, Lt. Col. Holt responded, “It was the opportunity to marry research and practice and to give practitioners tools to help them with everyday organizational problems.”
