Air Force Maj. Gen. Carl E. Schaefer (M.S. Systems Engineering, 2004) was nominated by the president for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general, with assignment as deputy commander, Air Force Materiel Command, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio.  Schaefer is currently serving as deputy commander, Air Force Materiel Command, Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio.
